Accommodation

The Boarding House is a home away from home. Prince Alfred College has a reputation for excellence and we believe that boarding is a vital part of that reputation.

The high standards embraced by the College are epitomised by our structured and supportive environment.

Our boarders are housed across four wings and overseen by eight live-in members of the Boarding House staff:

The Fiddian Wing houses 58 boys within five units and has two in-residence staff members. The Head of Boarding is ultimately responsible for this wing.

The Hartley Wing houses 44 boys in four units and also has two members of the boarding staff living in-residence. Two additional Senior staff members attached to the wing reside nearby and have direct responsibility for the boys in the wing.

Both the Fiddian and Hartley Wing have 8-17 students of mixed age groups in each unit. There are single, double and some triple rooms in each wing.

The Bayly Wing stands between the two other buildings and has single rooms for twenty-one students in Years 11 and 12. The Bayly Wing is staffed in-residence by one Senior staff member, who oversees these senior boys.

The Year 11 Villa houses 11 boys under the care of our Senior Residential Assistant: International Students, who lives with her family in the house alongside.

Apart from a Boarding House Prefect and another senior boy, who also provides leadership, the rest of the boys in the wing are either new to Australia or they have only been in the college for a short period of time. These students live in a homely environment, where they are closely supported and nurtured whilst they adjust to life in a new school and a new country.
