The Parents' and Friends' Association

The Parents' and Friends' Association comprises an energetic and passionate group of parents in the Preparatory, Middle and Senior Schools who meet regularly during the year to actively support the College and enhance the relationships of parents within the school community; while also raising significant funds to improve the educational facilities provided to the boys.

The Preparatory School Parents' and Friends' Association enables parents to build their own networks at the College through coffee mornings, bottle and plate nights and sausage sizzles/ cake stalls during community and school events. In addition to these, the Preparatory Parents' and Friends' Association conducts an annual Mothers' Day morning tea and fashion parade and has been known to have a flutter during the Melbourne Cup Luncheon.

Recently, funds raised by the Preparatory Parents' and Friends' have contributed to electronic whiteboards for the Kent Town Campus as well as sporting equipment for Scotts Creek.

The Middle and Senior School Parents' and Friends Association is responsible for producing the College's Art Show each year as well as a new parent cocktail party at the beginning of the year. Like the Preparatory Parents' and Friends', the Senior and Middle School parents work in consultation with the whole community in order to friendraise and fundraise for additional facilities for the boys. Their contribution to special events held by or at the College such as Musical and Drama performances or sporting events is invaluable.

Recently, funds raised by the Middle and Senior School Parents' and Friends' Association have enabled the Health Centre to purchase a vaccine refrigerator for storage and the provision of outdoor seating near the ANZAC Hall and Piper Pavilion.

The generosity of time, commitment and networking of both the Preparatory and Middle and Senior School Parents' and Friends' Association contributes greatly each year to the success of events produced by the Prince Alfred College Foundation and Community Relations Team - such as The Martini Ball, Foundation Business Lunches and Community Picnics.

We like to think that when a student enrols at Princes - the whole family becomes involved in the College. We welcome and encourage all families to become active in the Parents' and Friends' Associations.
