International Students

Prince Alfred College (CRICOS Provider Number: 00368A) is one of Australia’s leading schools for boys through the Preparatory School (Reception – Year 6) the Middle School (Years 7 – 9) and the Senior School (Years 10 – 12).

We have been educating day students and boarders for over 150 years.  Prince Alfred College offers boys and young men an outstanding education in a beautiful environment near the centre of Adelaide, only 20 minutes by car from the Adelaide International Airport.

We discover, nurture and develop the unique qualities of each boy to help him grow into an enterprising, confident and resilient young man,. This holistic education focuses on academic achievement, together with sport, the arts, technology, community service and leadership opportunities. We offer a wide range of co-curricular activities. Pastoral care and support of our students is a priority.

Many international students achieve outstanding academic results in both the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBD) and South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). Most Year 12 students gain first round offers to the University of their choice with popular courses being Medicine, Law,  International Relations, Commerce, Engineering and Health Sciences.

We currently have enrolled approximately 50 students from China, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

A wide range of support and pastoral care is available for International students. The International Students Transition Program (ISTP) is situated on campus and provides a course in intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) and cultural understanding. Our International students are supported by Asian and English language speaking coordinators and staff, mentors, tutors and student counselors.

Boarding and homestay accommodation is available for International students. We offer safe and welcoming boarding facilities for students in Years 7 to 12. For students new to the College, an International Transition House offers a safe and secure environment in which to settle for the first months. Rural Australian and International students mix as part of the College community. Our boarders enjoy the extensive grounds and sporting facilities on campus and take part in a range of sporting and recreational activities.

Homestay accommodation is organised by the Australian Homestay Network ( and places students with families living within easy distance of the College.

On arrival in Adelaide students are met by our International Students Coordinator and participate in a number of activities and programs that enable them to integrate into the School and wider community. Ongoing mentoring and support is available for International students.

Our PAC International Student Handbook gives all the information, details and guidelines about being a student at PAC  that International Students need to know.
