ACER Academic and Music Scholarships for Year 7 and 8, 2021
These academic and music scholarships are awarded based on the results of an exam the boys sit in early February each year and an interview and an audition for the music scholarships. The exam is run by the Australian Centre for Education Research (ACER) who will release the results to us in mid-March 2020. We will then establish a shortlist of candidates based on the test results and interview the boys (and hold auditions for the music scholarships). We will confirm the scholarship recipients by early April 2021.
ACER Scholarships being offered:
- Year 7, 2021: 4 academic plus 1 music scholarship
- Year 8, 2021: 4 academic plus 1 music scholarship
Testing date and venue: Saturday 8 February 2020 from 8.45am to 12 noon at Prince Alfred College, 23 Dequetteville Terrace, Kent Town. We will contact all those registered to sit for the exam here at PAC in January with a reminder and details about the venue in the College, what to wear and bring to the exam.
Who can apply: The ACER scholarships are available to boys currently attending PAC and other schools.
Value of the scholarships: They provide remission of up 50% of the tuition fees only (see our fees and charges) for every year that the boy attends PAC. Please note that scholarships do not cover: the one-off enrolment fee, annual consolidated charges for sports programs, camps and excursions, nor the cost of books, uniforms and the MacBook Air computer.
Selection process: Scholarships are awarded based on a student’s results in the ACER exam, his general profile and achievements and an interview held at the College or via Skype. In the case of a music scholarship, there is also an audition held at the College.
