Brian Fricker’s contribution to Prince Alfred College included playing football and squash for the old scholars, serving on the College Council, and as a loyal member and President of the PAOCA in 1967. Brian’s lifetime commitment to Prince Alfred College was acknowledged with Honorary Life Membership of the PAOCA, and with the naming of the Brian Fricker Sports Science Centre in 2004.
Brian Fricker served as a member of the Prince Alfred College Council from 1958 to 1986. During this time he made a valuable contribution as chairman of the building committee, with projects undertaken at the school including the assembly hall, the three-storey building, science laboratories and the staff common room building.
In professional life Brian was principal of the construction firm Fricker Carrington, president of the Master Builders Association of SA, and a director of SA Brewing Holdings. Brian Fricker was posthumously made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to charity, including the Burnside Hospital, the Heart Foundation, Lions, and the Anglican Church.
