Worlds of opportunity

Our extensive co-curricular program encourages boys to discover and develop their skills, broaden their experience and embrace challenges. Outdoor education, sport, performing arts, music, community service, chess, debating, as well as a range of excursions and tours add richness to their academic learning.

Student support

Embedding pastoral care into all aspects of school life is vital to our focus of educating and nurturing the whole boy.

Our International Students Transition Program (ISTP) includes intensive English classes, lessons in cultural understanding and a range of activities and programs to welcome students to our College community.

Our International Student Coordinator works with staff across the College to give ongoing mentoring and support to our international student cohort.

Boarding or homestay

At Prince Alfred College, we provide a welcoming and supportive place to live and learn with outstanding boarding facilities for boys in Years 7 to 12. As a boarder, your son will be a valued part of a tradition that has welcomed boys from around Australia and overseas for over 150 years.

Our dedicated international residential assistant supports our international boarding students. If you would like to explore a homestay option for your son, we can arrange this through the Australian Homestay Network. They will find a safe, caring and welcoming homestay family living close to our College campus.

ESOS Framework

The Australian Government wants international students in Australia to have a safe, enjoyable and rewarding place to study. Australia’s laws promote quality education and consumer protection for international students. These laws are known as the ESOS framework, and they include the Education Services for Overseas (ESOS) Act 2000 and the National Code 2007. We ask our international students and families to familiarise themselves with this framework.
