IBDP
Preparing students for success in a global environment
We are proud to be an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, part of a growing global network of over 5000 schools.
The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a globally respected educational pathway available to students in Years 11 and 12 at Prince Alfred College. It requires students to study a broad range of subjects, whilst giving them the freedom to choose which areas to focus on in greater depth.
Why choose the IB Diploma?
The IBDP is a challenging, balanced and inclusive program of education, which prepares students for success in a global environment.
The IBDP is particularly respected by universities around the world, who value the critical thinking skills, academic focus and advanced research capabilities possessed by IB graduates. Many universities in Australia and overseas offer course credits to IB graduates, acknowledging that they are more academically prepared than many of their peers from national systems.
Our IB classes are small and focused, creating opportunities for teachers and students to develop strong relationships and engage in topics and discussions at a much deeper level than they might previously have experienced. Our specialist IB teachers are all individually trained by the IB in their respective subject areas and are extremely passionate about the programme.
We have a long history of success in the IB, reflecting our commitment to making the Diploma Programme a key feature of a PAC education. As one of the top-performing IB schools in Australia, our students achieve consistently high results, opening doors around the world.
