On Thursday September 29, 50 boys represented PAC at the annual Achilles Cup Athletics Championships at Bridgestone Arena Salisbury.

Sadly, our House Athletics Carnival was cancelled due to wet weather a few weeks earlier, so it was a difficult task nominating a team of athletes with no current results to work from.

To the boys’ credit – most boys who were asked to compete committed to the day and we enjoyed a wonderful day of competition.

With low expectations due to recent cancellations we started the day with a ‘do our best attitude and fill every event’. We all surprised ourselves with our competitiveness and determination – and it was so pleasing to have PAC finish fourth overall on the day – close behind St Peter’s College, Trinity College and Immanuel College – all schools with large numbers and big athletics programs.

A huge thankyou to the boys for their efforts and to the staff who supported us on the day – Mr Brown, Mr Howson, Ms Adams and Mr Ritossa . It was also great to have quite a few parents there supporting their sons.

Congratulations to the Under 13 boys who came second overall in their division and to the Under 14s who finished third.
