Not only did John Keeves attend our school, but he also taught here for two periods, from 1947 to 1949 and 1953 to 1961. He gained tertiary qualifications from the Universities of Adelaide, Melbourne and Oxford.
In 1962 Keeves became senior research officer for the Australian Council for Educational Research, followed by stints at the Australian National University and the University of Stockholm, from which he gained a doctorate. He returned to the Australian Council for Educational Research in 1974 and became its Director in 1984, holding this position until retirement.
Professor Keeves has written a number of books on Maths, Science and Education, and is now Professorial Fellow at Flinders University, Adelaide.
