At the age of six Luke Dollman commenced playing the violin, twenty-one years later he is acclaimed as one of the world’s up and coming orchestral conductors, and one of the finest musicians in Australia.
While undertaking violin studies at the Elder Conservatorium of Music at the University of Adelaide, Dollman became interested in conducting, pursuing this through further studies interstate. In 2000 Dollman won the prestigious Westfield Young Conductor of the Year Award, and has used his scholarship to undertake further studies at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
He has assumed the position of Assistant Conductor of the Netherlands Radio Philarmonic and is based in Amsterdam. In 2001 he will be conducting performances of Australian symphony orchestras, including the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
