Theodore Dorsch was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to Christ Church College, Oxford in 1933. He was Head of English at Wellington College in the United Kingdom. He went on to become Reader in English at the University of London for 20 years, Professor of English at the University of Durham, and a visiting professor at universities in Australia, Germany, and the United States of America.
