With his strong links within the business, industry, and Princes communities Geoff Gerard, whilst not an old scholar, was the logical person to be invited to be the inaugural President of the Prince Alfred College Foundation in 1974.
The PAC Foundation was the first of its type in a school in South Australia. In its establishment Geoff Gerard was a major donor, a figure head for the fledgling organisation, and used his contacts to further its aims and objectives. He was a conscientious leader, personally asked a significant number of people to join the Foundation, and maintained a strong interest in its ongoing development and successes until his death.
We recognize Geoff Gerard as a Princes Man for his outstanding contribution to the life of the school through the Prince Alfred College Foundation, and acknowledge that without his drive thirty five years ago the Foundation would not be the success that it has become.
