Prince Alfred College Playgroup

For children aged six months to five years and their families. 

Get ready to have some fun at the Prince Alfred College playgroup! 

Enjoy a variety of age-appropriate activities in a safe and welcoming environment, and the opportunity to get to know other parents with children of a similar age. 

Session Times

There are two sessions on a Monday morning. Each session last for one hour. 

  • Session 1: 9.15am to 10.15am
  • Session 2: 10.30am to 11.30am

From the start of Term 2 2021, we will run two additional sessions at the same time on a Wednesday morning.


Sessions are held in OSHC Room 2 (adjacent the veggie garden) in the Prince Alfred College Preparatory School.

Enter the College via the Parade West and follow signs to the Playgroup.

What to bring

Please bring a drink and a snack for your child. Please no nuts or nut products.


There is a cost of $10 per session or $60 per term (8 sessions) if booked in advance, which includes the cost of all activities and materials.

Term 1

  • Week 2 (1 February)
    Welcome hello - Nina Marni. Includes didgeridoo playing by Reverend Mark.
  • Week 3 (8 February)
    All about me.
  • Week 4 (15 February)
    A time for love.
  • Week 5 (22 February)
    The bush and the land.
  • Week 6 (1 March)
    Music, listening and moving. Includes a musical accompaniment by a PAC student during group time.
  • Week 7 (8 March)
    Public holiday. No playgroup today :(
  • Week 8 (15 March)
    World of animals.
  • Week 9 (22 March)
    Messy sensory play. Wear old clothes and get ready for some fun!
  • Week 10 (29 March)
    Easter. Includes an Easter egg hunt.

'As an experienced Early Childhood Teacher and mum to two young children, I am enthusiastic and passionate about children and how they learn best. 

We know there are many benefits for children who attend playgroup; we aim to provide fun and varied learning experiences for all preschool age groups that will help them learn about the world, make friends and develop both physical and cognitive skills. 

Our playgroup community helps families to connect with each other and build their own supportive community. It is a time to spend with your child, meet other families and share stories while you and your child explore and investigate, through play, in a caring and supportive environment.'
