There has been a definite swing in the vibe of the Boarding House in the past week. After a very successful period of celebration for the Year 12s as their formal lessons came to an end, their shift has now changed to focus on studying for their upcoming exams and finishing off their final major projects. The coffee machine has definitely become a very welcomed addition to the Boarding House during this time as the Year 12s are utilising the extra caffeine hits to help keep them on track as well as providing the perfect opportunity to break from study, touch base with mates and regroup before diving back into their next session. In addition to this, many Year 12s had their Art, Design and Tech projects on display as part of the Show Case which took place in the Piper Pavilion last Friday, Week 3. This was a perfect opportunity to see a diverse range of talents on display which was also complemented by the level of pride beaming from the family members present.
For the other year levels, the boys have thrown themselves into the usual routine of Term 4. Training and games for their range of summer sports has kept the boys busy and having fun. The Boarding House’s usual action-packed activities program has also allowed the boarders to try new things as well as return to some tried and tested favourites, including golf, surfing and pizza making.
The junior boys are also starting to get excited about our upcoming transition weekend. They are busy working out ‘buddies’ from the list of new boys coming, so they can support their new roommate by showing them the ropes of boarding.
The Boarding House most definitely never stops, trying to keep up with the energy and excitement of all of its residents. We look forward to updating you in the coming weeks with all things boarding.
