College Blog Headmaster's Update
11 June 2021

In this week's article, Headmaster Fenner discusses the new Strategic Plan, staffing matters and more.

Strategic Plan
I would imagine that most parents will have seen an invitation to the launch of our Strategic Plan for 2021-24, which is to take place on Thursday June 24. Following the launch, we will place the Strategic Plan on our website and will circulate it to school community members. The Plan is the result of an extensive planning process over the last 18 months and the College Council and Executive believe that this will set clear and positive directions for us for the next few years.

Darren Roylett
Darren Roylett has resigned from the staff of Prince Alfred College, with effect from July 12, 2021. Darren has accepted a position as a Senior Education Consultant with Hutton Consulting. Hutton has emerged in recent years as a significant provider of educational recruitment services, as well as general educational consultancy.

Darren has made an outstanding contribution to Prince Alfred College as Director of Boarding and more recently in overseeing our Indigenous education and boys’ education programs, as well as professional learning. I am sure that everyone will wish to join me in congratulating Darren on this new appointment and wishing him well for the future.

Staffing

Thomas Rolls will join the Secondary School teaching staff for third term, teaching PE and Outdoor Education replacing Tori Steyn. Tom holds a First Class Honours Degree in Science from the University of Birmingham and a PGCE from Staffordshire University. Prior to relocating to Adelaide with his Australian partner, Thomas had taught for several years at Highfields School in the UK.

ELC Teacher Alexandra Schmidt, who has been on long service leave this term, has resigned from the staff of PAC to move with her family to Queensland. Alex also taught in the Preparatory School and has made an outstanding contribution during her 15 years at the College.

ELC Teacher Harry Ren has resigned from the ELC staff with effect from the end of this term. Harry began with us as a Co-Educator and has been a valued colleague and educator in the ELC.
