Abbreviations and Acronyms
Abbreviations should be listed in brackets after the full name in the first instance, i,e South Australian
Science Teachers Association (SASTA). The acronym can then be used thereafter.
Preparatory School not Prep School
The following acronyms do not need to be written in full in the first instance.

Note: Please be sure to check each boy is named correctly and do not assume the provided captions are correct.
Captions to formal photographs are to use full names where possible. For international students, the anglicised name should be inserted in brackets after the formal name, i.e Siu Yin (Martin) Ng.
Teachers, coaches, managers and co-ordinators names do not need Mr, Ms or Mrs, i.e Team Manager: Megan McLaughlin Coordinator: Phil McLaughlin Coach: Kevin Malyschko.
Use 'and' not '&', i.e Coaches: Jarrad Jackson and Jack Harford.
No full stops after captions.
Numbers
Please remember that numbers under 10 should be written in full
First XVIII not 1st XVIII
Year 12s not Year 12’s
Year 1, Week 5, Term 4, Division 1, Round 3
Spelling Preferences
‘Program’, not ‘programme’, except where it appears in relation to the International Baccalaureate (IB), i.e Primary Years Programme.
World War II, not World War Two or Second World War
19th century, not nineteenth century.
Avoid the use of slang, eg footy.
Co-ordinator not Coordinator
