A student run film crew has been initiated by Year 12 Prefect and Captain of Film Myles McEwen who will be coordinating the creative minded group of students.

The crew includes Patrick Femia (Year 11) and Max Oswald (Year 10), as well as Tom Haden (Year 10).

The team is currently creating a one minute short film each week which will play at the beginning of every assembly, putting a spotlight on diverse stories around the College. The initiative aims to build upon the Performing Arts and School’s culture with the incredible help of Dan Woolford.

I’m trying to cement the future of filmmaking at the College, whereby Patrick Femia will take my place next year and, after he finishes, hand it over to Tom Haden who will continue this process. It’s also just really exciting being a part of this unique band of filmmakers.

The team will be continuing the legacy of former student William Smart, who led the initiative for a number few years.

We’ve already finished and shown our first one minute short film, focusing on a recent Indigenous Cultural Burn for Reconciliation week. We also helped Myles, Thomas Mitev and Mr. Wilde produce a 10-minute documentary focusing on the fantastic staff working at the School.

The crew also plans to have a film premiere night after the Princes Film Fest later in the year.
