Working on a still-life theme, there have been a pleasing number of high-calibre coloured pencil drawings on a variety of card surfaces. The rendering of form to create the illusion of three-dimensional space is a fundamental skill in to achieve a sense of realism. Whilst ‘Realism’ should not remain ‘the be all’, it does serve as a solid platform for skills development among our boys here at Princes. The year 10 boys are in the process of completing their acrylic painting and there are promising signs of potential among some of the boys as shown.
