Master Plan Update

News
9 April 2025

As we reach the end of Term 1, we are delighted to share with you the progress that has been made across a number of our projects.

Preparatory School Redevelopment

Our staff and boys arrived back at the end of January to a reconfigured classroom set up for students in Reception to Year 4. Everyone settled in with ease with our Year 2 boys thrilled to run straight from their temporary classrooms onto the Front Oval!

With the construction site cleared over the summer holidays, our construction partners, Marshall & Brougham, have set up the site to create a safe zone for construction, ensuring essential services like power and water are maintained and completing remediation and preparation of the site ready for the new build. The first stage of construction of the new Boulevard (Dequetteville Terrace entry) is almost complete.

Late in the term, we held our 'turning the sod' ceremony to mark the commencement of construction, with works on the building foundations commencing at the start of April.

We enjoyed touring Littlehampton Clay Bricks & Pavers in early March. Owned by current PAC parents, Klark and Brooke Quinn, Littlehampton will supply their beautiful artisan bricks and pavers for the outdoor areas of the redevelopment. It was fascinating to tour the site with Klark and Brooke, who are both knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. It was also a valuable opportunity to learn more about the materials that will help shape our new spaces. High-quality, locally sourced, sustainable materials are a priority for the build, and Littlehampton’s bricks are a wonderful example of this commitment in action.

Other projects within the Preparatory School redevelopment currently underway include:

  • Selecting age-appropriate play equipment for the various outdoor play zones
  • Landscape and outdoor area planting and furniture selections
  • Signage and wayfinding preparations
  • Internal and external finishes and furniture selections.

Next Term, we expect to see installation of the steel framing structure of the building go up and potentially some of the pre-cast façade walls.

Multi-purpose Sports Field

Planning is well underway for the multipurpose sports field that will be built between the John Dunning (Prep) Gymnasium and St Jaques. Investigation of existing site conditions has been completed and we have now commenced the planning and design phase with sports field specialists, Greenspace 4D.

Carpark

Site and geotechnical investigations for the College Rd site will commence in the coming school holidays.

In the interim, the establishment of an alternative collection point near St Jacques is underway as we trial an exit onto Flinders Street. Further details will be communicated in week 1 of Term 2.

We look forward to sharing further updates, relating to our Preparatory School Redevelopment and the College Master Plan in the coming months.
