For the second episode in the Prince Alfred College Podcast series, Year 12 students, Marco and James were bold in their ambition to approach the Premier of South Australia to participate. The boys were met with open enthusiasm from the Premier and they were soon visiting the Premier at his offices in Parliament House to record the episode.
Throughout the episode the Premier generously shares his journey from his early days of interest in macro economics to his deepening desire to help people in the community. He also shares candid insights into the challenges and rewards of political life and his commitment to public service, leadership, and our community in South Australia.
The discussion included the role of government to engage young people to which the Premier commented "to create that sense of belonging, when young people feel at ease and at home and secure allows one to be themselves in every environment."
On the topic of social media access amongst young people, a national conversation initiated here in South Australia, the Premier spoke of the differences in how people communicate with each other in person and in an online environment. Of in person engagement he said "it creates a feeling of comfort and respect and that invites a greater sense of belonging."
The Premier also takes part in our 'Red Hot Questions' segment, a series of rapid fire questions. Tune in to find out the Premier's ideal holiday holiday destination (with and without children!) and his favourite thing that is red!
Congratulations to Marco and James for planning, preparing and delivering such an outstanding conversation with The Honourable Peter Malinauskas, Premier of South Australia.
