Prince Alfred College Podcast Episode 6

News
5 December 2025

A conversation with Headmaster David Roberts and 2026 College Captain, Thami.

In the final podcast for the year, Headmaster David Roberts and our 2026 College Captain, Thami, discussed the highlights of 2025 and the role of student leadership at PAC.

Reflecting on the past year, Mr Roberts shared some standout achievements, including the commencement of the College Master Plan, the growth in service-learning initiatives, and the positive impact of the Princes Men Charter. He also spoke about the Secondary School academic review, which aims to provide greater choice and flexibility for students while strengthening critical thinking skills.

Looking to 2026, students can anticipate major developments on campus, including the completion of the Preparatory School Redevelopment and the launch of the RED Centre Athletic Development space in Term 1, and later in the year, the opening of the new Multi-Purpose Sports Field. These projects promise to enrich both the learning and co-curricular experiences of our students.

The discussion also explored the evolving role of student leadership at PAC. Mr Roberts emphasised the importance of Prefects having a clear sense of purpose and practical responsibilities, noting that all Senior students serve as role models for their younger peers. He encouraged student leaders to embrace collaboration and maintain a service mindset, offering timeless advice: “Work hard. Be kind.”

Thami shared his excitement about stepping into the role of College Captain, outlining his vision for fostering inclusion and mentoring future leaders. The theme of the 2025 Prefect cohort is 'lifting others up' - showing up for others, offering support and demonstrating there is strength in asking for help. He spoke passionately about celebrating what makes PAC special and ensuring every student feels seen and valued.

The podcast concluded with the popular “Red Hot Questions” segment, giving listeners a chance to learn some light-hearted facts about both leaders.
