Piers Cambridge graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon, in 1991 and joined the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Since 1999 he has been the Workshop Platoon Commander of 10 Force Support Battalion.
In October 1999 Cambridge was deployed with his platoon to East Timor, where he was responsible for the repair and maintenance of all unit equipment and vehicles, with the task expanding as the INTERFET force grew.
Captain Cambridge was awarded the Chief of Defence Force Commendation for distinguished leadership during Operation Warden in 2000.
