Chris Bailey and friends formed the band ‘Tattered Soul’ at PAC, performing at school dances and city clubs. At university Chris joined ‘Red Angel Panic’, a band remembered for strident anti-Vietnam war songs, hosted the ABC TV contemporary music show, ‘Solid Air’, and then sang and played bass for the alternative rock outfit ‘Headband’.
Chris then joined rock band ‘The Angels’, which produced some of Australia’s most iconic and well recognised rock songs including “Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again”. In 1988 Chris, along with other members of the band were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. He was a founding member of internationally popular ‘GANGgajang’, a band that penned memorable Australian rock songs such as “Sounds of Then”.
Chris was a highly sought after musician who also played in the bands of Jimmy Barnes and Billy Joel. He will be remembered as talented, melodic and creative bass player renowned for his commitment, reliability and perfectionism.
