David Rowe played doubles with Don Candy during their years together at Princes and enjoyed convincing wins in intercol fixtures. Later they were both members of the victorious 1947 Linton Cup team in Sydney. David Rowe enjoyed success at the State level, peaking at number six in the State. Outside of tennis David had a 40-year career in sports retail and founded the well-known sports store Rowe and Jarman.
