The School’s choirmaster from 1992-2008, Robert Dawe has been responsible for developing the outstanding Chapel Choir and coaching our boys for appearances in concerts and opera productions. Since 1981 he has taught at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, Adelaide University.
Like his father, Lewis, Robert Dawe won the Australasian Vocal Championship (1968), and then trained as a singer at London’s Royal Opera House. He has appeared in leading roles in concerts and opera in every Australian capital. He also sang in every Adelaide Festival from its inception until 1996, and in over 150 ABC concerts for more than forty five years.
Robert’s voice was used in the sound track for the film version of Fiddler on the Roof.
