This week we went on an excursion to the Art Gallery of South Australia to explore portraiture. One of the children shared that a self portrait is when you “like you draw yourself”. We went for a portrait hunt in the gallery to find six different self portraits. The children then created their own self portrait boxes using fancy paint crayons. Inside the boxes they placed five things in the box that were special to them. The children had such a wonderful time getting out into our wider community and learning about how each self portrait is unique in their own special way.
