David Robertson studied law and economics at the University of Adelaide, followed by a Bachelor of Civil Laws at Oxford. In 1987 he was an associate to High Court of Australia Justice and future Governor-General Sir William Deane. He now practises as a barrister in Sydney, specialising in commercial law. He has appeared in a number of high-profile commercial cases.
